What is paint correction?

Paint correction is the process of returning your vehicles clear coat to an "as new" or in some cases better than new condition. The reason being is that not all new cars have "perfect" paint. The list is long, but for example. Random scratches, finishing sanding marks, holograms from PDI preparation etc, all of these can have an impact on your new vehicles appearance.

Used vehicles on the other hand can have a vast array of reasons for a degraded paint finish. Incorrect wash technique, automated car washes, oxidation and general wear and tear just to name a few.

Paint correction combats these issues which affect the final result of your vehicles finish. After assessing your vehicles paint depth and how hard the clear coat is, a pad and compound / polish combination can be determined. The machine polishing phase removes a microscopic layer of clear coat, essentially leveling the finish, returning its clarity. This process removes swirl marks and reduces deeper scratching. Technically speaking, it does not "remove" the physical scratch itself. Like a hair cut, you can remove clear coat but you cannot add! What compounding and polishing does is level the clear coat around the defect and soften the edges to reduce its viability. If there is enough clear coat to work with however, the entire defect can be eliminated.

What is Ceramic coating?

Ceramic coatings are chemical polymers which when applied to a vehicle, harden to form an extremely durable layer of protection which lasts several years.

Ceramic coatings primary active ingredient is silicon dioxide (SiO2), the main constituent part found within glass.

When applied to a vehicle, a very thin layer of this SIO2 bonds to the surface, in turn giving benefits such as:

Increased water & dirt repellency

Chemical resistance

Easier cleaning

Increased slickness
